Have a sublime birthday

ich habe mir für die Lawn Fawnatics Challenge etwas besonderes überlegt. Ich habe eine Double Slider Karte gestaltet, bei der die Slider-Elemente einen Schalter für die LED bilden. Nach ein wenig Tüftelei habe ich das auch tatsächlich geschafft.
Für meine Abbildung auf der Vorderseite habe ich mein neues Wissen aus dem "Underwater scenes"-Kurs von Sandy Allnock eingesetzt, um eine Unterwasserhöhle zu zeichnen, bei der ein Taucher durch die Öffnung einen Laternenfisch beobachtet.
Für die Abbildung im oberen Slider-Element habe ich ebenfalls eine Lektion aus dem genannten Kurs verwendet, um die Wasseroberfläche zu gestalten. Das U-Boot stammt aus dem Stempelset You are sublime von Lawn Fawn, so wie auch der Taucher und der Laternenfisch.
Das untere Slider Element bietet Platz für ein paar Worte an den Empfänger. Dekoriert habe ich dieses mit einer Muräne und ein paar kleinen Fischen. Die Muräne (oder der Aal) stammt ebenfalls aus dem oben genannten Stempelset und der kleine Fisch aus dem Set Mermaid for you.

Die Slider-Elemente habe ich aus dunkelblauem Papier ausgeschnitten und das obere mit der größten Lift the Flap Stanze am oberen Ende verziert. Dann habe ich noch ein Loch für meine Bänder gestanzt, an denen man das Slider-Element herausziehen kann. Ich wollte noch einen klitzekleinen Banner für den "Pull here"-Hinweis an der Schleife befestigen, habe aber keinen in der passenden Größe zur Hand. Daher habe ich mit der kleinsten geraden Slide on over Stanze einen Streifen aus dem dunkelblauen Papier ausgestanzt und dann an der einen Seite ein Loch in die Rundung gestanzt und auf der anderen Seite ein Banner-Ende geschnitten. Aus dem Stempelset Push here habe ich den Hinweis "Pull here" embosst und den Mini-Banner an der Schleife befestigt.

Meinen LED-Schalter habe mit leitfähigem Garn und einer 2 Cent-Münze gebaut. Durch das Bewegen der Slider-Elemente berührt die Münze die Batterie und die LED erleuchtet die Laterne des Fisches. Ich finde den Effekt echt klasse und bin froh, dass ich meine Idee umsetzen konnte. Ich hoffe, ich konnte euch dazu inspirieren, was neues auszuprobieren. ^^

I thought about something special for the Lawn Fawnatics challenge. I have designed a double slider card, where the slider elements form a switch for the LED. After a bit of tinkering, I actually did it.
For my picture on the front page, I used my new knowledge from Sandy Allnock's "Underwater scenes" course to draw an underwater cavern where a diver watches a lanternfish through the opening.
For the image in the upper slider element, I also used a lesson from the mentioned course to design the water surface. The submarine comes from Lawn Fawn's stamp set You are sublime, as well as the diver and the lanternfish.
The lower slider element can accommodate a few words to the recipient. I decorated this with a moray eel and a few small fish. The (moray) eel also comes from the above mentioned stamp set and the small fish from the set Mermaid for you.

I've cut the slider elements from dark blue card stock and decorated the top one with the biggest lift the flap die at the top. Then I punched a hole for my ribbons, where you can pull out the slider element. I wanted to attach a tiny banner to the loop for the "pull here" note, but I do not have one in the right size. Therefore, I die cut a strip out of the dark blue paper using the smallest straight slide on over die and then punched a hole in the curve on one side and cut a banner end on the other side. From the stamp set Push here I embossed the message "Pull here" and attached the mini-banner to the loop.

I built my LED switch with conductive yarn and a 2 cent coin. By moving the slider elements, the coin touches the battery and the LED illuminates the lantern of the fish. I think the effect is really great and I'm glad that I was able to implement my idea. I hope I could inspire you to try something new. ^^
