bei der Lawn Fawnatics Challenge gibt es wieder ein Thema wie geschaffen für mich: interactive Karten.
Ich habe mich dazu entschieden, wieder eine LED-Karte zu machen, da ich da immer ein paar Probleme mit den Ein-/Ausschaltern oder den Batteriehaltern habe. Irgendwas funktioniert meistens nicht ganz so, wie es soll. Aber mir jeder Karte wird es besser ;)
Dieses Mal habe ich mir vorgenommen eine Reveal Wheel Karte zu gestalten, wobei das Reveal Wheel der Schalter für die LEDs werden sollte. Ich habe echt lange für die Karte gebraucht, aber ich habe es geschafft. Es funktioniert auch alles ohne Probleme :D
Was mich allerdings am meisten Zeit gekostet hat, war die Gestaltung der Karte an sich. Ich wusste, dass ich das neue Car Critters Set verwenden wollte, aber mir wollte kein passender Hintergrund einfallen. Beim Durchforsten meiner Stanzen bin ich dann schlussendlich doch noch fündig geworden und auch ganz zufrieden mit dem Endergebnis.
Ein paar Details zur Gestaltung:
Das reveal Wheel habe ich einmal aus dickem Acetat, einmal aus Kopierpapier und einmal aus normalem Papier ausgestanzt. Das Rad aus normalem Papier habe ich danach mit einer Kreisstanze so zurecht gestanzt, dass nur der äußere Wellenrand übrig geblieben ist. Diesen habe ich oben auf das Acetat-Rad aufgeklebt. Das Rad aus Kopierpapier habe ich rosa eingefärbt und danach mit Hilfe der dreier-Schablone der reveal wheel templates: car critters add-on die drei Bären-Paare entsprechend auf dem Rad angeordnet. Dann habe ich dieses unter dem Acetat-Rad befestigt. Jetzt sehen die Bären aus, als würden Sie hinter der Windschutzscheibe des Autos sitzen.
Danach habe ich den Schaltkreis für die LEDs ausgetüftelt, so dass die Lampen des Autos nur dann aufleuchten, wenn die Bären in der richtigen Position hinter der Scheibe sind. Beim Wechsel von einem Bärenpaar (also beim drehen des Reveal Wheels) zum nächsten sollen die Lampen nicht leuchten. Dazu habe ich den Schaltkreis unterbrochen und er wird immer dann wieder geschlossen, wenn das Rad in der richtigen Position ist. Ich bin echt froh, dass es so gut funktioniert hat. :)
Das Innere der Karte ist noch leer, so habe ich die Möglichkeit, den Spruch für diverse Anlässe zu vervollständigen. Zum Beispiel Driving by to say...
...Happy Birthday, oder
...Congrats, oder einfach nur

The current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge features another task that was made for me: interactive cards.
I decided to make an LED card again because I always have a few problems with the on / off switches or the battery holders. Something usually doesn't work exactly as it should. But every card makes me better;)
This time I decided to create a Reveal Wheel card where the Reveal Wheel should also be the switch for the LEDs. It took me a long time to create this card, but I think the result was worth the effort. Everything works without problems:D
One of the most time consuming-parts, however, was the design of the card itself. I knew I wanted to use the new Car Critters stamp set, but I couldn't think of a suitable background. When I went through my dies, I finally found what I was looking for and I am quite happy with the result.
A few details about the design:
I die cut the reveal wheel once from thick acetate, once from copy paper and once from cardstock. I then used a circle die to cut the inner part of the cardstock wheel so that only the outer scalloped edge was left. I glued this on top of the acetate wheel. I coloured the wheel out of copy paper pink and then arranged the three bear pairs accordingly on the wheel with the help of the of the reveal wheel templates: car critters add-on (triple template). Then I attached it under the acetate wheel. Now the bears look like they are sitting behind the car's windshield.
After that, I worked out the circuit for the LEDs so that the car's lights only light up when the bears are in the right position behind the window. When changing from one pair of bears to the next (when turning the reveal wheel), the lamps should not be lit. To do this, I disconnected the circuit and it will always reconnect when the wheel is in the correct positions. I'm really glad it worked out so well. :)
The inside of the card is still empty, so I have the opportunity to complete the sentiment for various occasions. For example Driving by to say ...
